Automatisierte Anfallsdetektion mit Wearables: Welche Technologien für welche Biosignale?

Zusammenfassung

Epileptische Anfälle manifestieren sich je nach Anfallstyp motorisch, autonom, kognitiv oder auch emotional. Mobile Erfassungssysteme (Wearables) können bei geeigneter Ausstattung mit Sensoren spezifische Signaturen dieser Erscheinungsformen erfassen und zur Detektion von Anfällen, zur Anfallsvorhersage oder auch für ein Risikoassessment eingesetzt werden. Aktuell sind die Leistungen von Wearables mit integrierten Bewegungssensoren bei motorischen Anfällen mit tonischer und klonischer Komponente am besten, andere Anfallsformen sind jedoch ebenfalls geeignete Kandidaten für eine objektive Anfallserfassung. Die Kombination mit Ultralangzeit-EEG-Registrierungen erweitert das Spektrum erfassbarer Anfallsformen und eröffnet eine Perspektive für eine qualitativ neue Ära des Therapiemonitorings.

Eine ältere Frau trinkt regelmäßig Sennesblättertee gegen ihre Verstopfung. Der scheint plötzlich gut zu wirken. Auf Durchfall und Erbrechen folgt allerdings eine Hyponatriämie. Nach deren Korrektur kommt es plötzlich zu progredienten Kognitions- und Verhaltensstörungen.
